Merge tags correspond to field data in your email lists, and can be used to insert personalized or dynamic content into your campaigns, signup forms, response emails, and workflow. There are merge tags from everything from First Name's to ID's. However, when using Scratch-it, the most important merge tag to remember is your Email Service Provider's email merge tag.
By appending an email merge tag to your scratching page url, your Scratch-it reporting dashboard will collect the individual behvioral data of those interacting with your page. This is due to javascript on the scratching page that captures user's email address from the URL upon being passed through the scratching page, this is dony by using, you guessed it - an email merge tag!
